The Tug O'War  has recently been reintroduced and is gaining in popularity, with many pub teams entered.Cycle races in the ring have now given way to mountain biking up the hillside.Junior fell races promise to keep the  youngsters involvedThere are currently 5 trails held at Grasmere on Sports day.Robert McNamara and Rab Clark sport the All Weights and World 12 stone trophies they won in 2001.

A 304 page hard back book by Roy Lomas, jointly published by the author and MTP Publications Ltd of Kendal, was successfully launched at Grasmere Sports this year. It features history and results of Guides Races, Cumberland and Westmorland Style Wrestling, Hound Trailing, Pole Vaulting, High and Long Jump events, Sprints, Cycling, Tug O'War etc. It is 91 years since H.W. Machell published his book, 'Some Records of The Annual Grasmere Sports,' Published in the 150th Anniversary year of what is generally recognised as the first recorded occasion on which 'Grasmere Sports' was held in Hudson's Field on April 18th and 19th 1852, this book brings the record right up to date.
